SUE

I am a Gestalt Relational Psychotherapist. I work with adults only, on a one-to-one basis in order to create a ‘Therapeutic Working Relationship’. Research has proved that it is within this relationship that change happens. I offer a supportive, confidential and safe space to explore issues on a short or long term basis.

I am an Advanced Trainee studying at the Welsh Psychotherapy Institute. I have completed my training and am in the final stages of submission for accreditation as a Clinical Psychotherapist (Level 7) with the UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapists). I recently completed an additional Post Completion Course. I also studied Humanistic Existential Counselling at Barry College, Vale of Glamorgan where I completed Levels 1, 2 and 3 in Person Centred/Integrative Counselling.

Throughout my training I have seen clients as a Volunteer Counsellor with Cruse Bereavement, as a Volunteer Psychotherapist with YCS (Y Cwmni Siarad/ The Talking Company) and am also a member of the Affordable Therapy Service (WPI).

I am a Student Trainee Member of the following organisations:

UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapists)

UKAGP (UK Association for Gestalt Practitioners)

WPI (Welsh Psychotherapy Institute)

I attend for regular supervision, am fully insured and have a DBS check certificate.

As an Advanced Trainee I charge £40 for an hour therapy session. I also have a limited number of concession spaces; costs are variable depending on financial situation and availability.

UKCP Accredited Gestalt Psychotherapist & Supervisor

I am a Gestalt psychotherapist and supervisor with 14 years of clinical experience. My practice is built on a simple but challenging question: What actually happens between us, moment by moment? I am interested in what happens when contact becomes unstable, uncomfortable, or charged. I work with people who want to move past the "path of least resistance" to engage with life as it emerges in the room; messy, un-tidied, and real.

Clinical Depth & Experience

My background is rooted in the "deep end" of mental health. Before moving into private practice and training, I worked within the NHS, local authorities, and inpatient mental health units (CAMHS and adult). This experience gave me a solid ground for working with high-intensity material, including:

  • Complex Trauma & Dissatisfaction,

  • Identity, Gender, Sexuality and Relationship diversity,

  • Neurodiversity,

  • Crisis & Loss

These are themes that are easy to mishandle and hard to stay with. I provide a space that is relationally rigorous and ethically alive, allowing enough room for your truth to breathe without the need to "fix" it or rush toward a resolution.

Supervision

As a Relational Change Diploma holder, I offer supervision that is experiential and dialogic. I support therapists to develop the self-support and differentiation needed to work with "risky" or charged material without avoidance or collapse.

  • Locations: In-person (Cardiff) and Online.

  • Fees: I hold a limited number of affordable spaces for those in financial difficulty.

Let’s Connect

Whether you are a client navigating personal terrain or a therapist looking for supervision that stretches you, let’s see what happens when we stay present together.
